Nokia Akui Sedang Siapkan Tablet Unik

 

Meski masih disibukkan dengan ponsel Lumia, diam-diam ternyata Nokia sedang menyiapkan komputer tablet. Hal ini disampaikan langsung oleh kepala desain Nokia, Marko Ahtisaari.

Marko Ahtisaari menyebut menghabiskan sepertiga waktunya untuk menciptakan tablet. "Kami bekerja untuk itu," kata Ahtisaari kepada majalah asal Finlandia, Kauppalehti Optio.

Windows 8 belum juga diluncurkan, namun itu tidak menghentikan niat para produsen bertarung untuk menjadi yang pertama merilis perangkat dengan OS tersebut.

Seperti dikutip dari Mashable, Jumat (16/3), kali ini giliran Lenovo yang berencana merilis tablet Windows 8 pertama di dunia.

Menurut sebuah sumber, Lenovo akan meluncurkan produk tersebut pada Oktober 2012 mendatang dengan dukungan chip buatan Intel. Selain kabar itu, belum ada keterangan lebih lanjur

Intel Adds Five New CPUs to Xeon E5 Processor Range

 

Officially introduced just the other week, Intel’s Xeon E5 processor range was quietly updated a little while ago with five new processors, two of these coming as embedded options while the other two target the OEM space.


The OEM processors, which were uncovered byCPU-World, are called the Xeon E5-1603 and E5-1607. 

According to the information gathered, the Xeon E5-1603 and E5-1607 operate at 2.8GHz and 3GHz, respectively, while featuring four processing cores, a 130W TDP and 10MB of shared Level 3 cache memory.

HIS is working on a new custom design for Radeon HD 7970 video card that will utilize the company’s next-generation IceQ X2 cooling system in order to deliver quieter operation and lower running temperatures than AMD’s reference card.


Just exposed by Expreview, the X2 is the first cooling solution in the IceQ family to use a dual fan design and it occupies two slots inside the system case.

The fans measure a massive 112mm in diameter and are placed on top of a large fin array which draws the heat away from the GPU via three 6mm and two 8mm nickel-plated copper heatpipes.

What would allegedly be a leaked photo of Samsung’s Galaxy S III smartphone has started to make the rounds on the web recently, only to be considered more fake than the real deal. 

We all know that Samsung is getting ready for the release of a successor for its Galaxy S II smartphone, and that it might make it official as soon as this month. 

What we don’t know as of yet is how exactly the device would look like, or what specific features Samsung might include inside it. 

LG Optimus L7 Goes on Pre-Order in the UK for £255 (400 USD or 305 EUR)

 

LG announced its L-style series last month ahead of Mobile World Congress 2012. The company promised that all smartphones in the series would be launched on the market at some point during Q2 2012.

LG Optimus L7 has been recently confirmed for Canada via Rogers, but a release date has yet to be officially announced. In the same news, SoMobile reports that the smartphone is now available for pre-order in the UK for a much cheaper price.

Today, Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion made a mini keyboard for the BlackBerry PlayBook official, so that its users could benefit from more input capabilities than before. 

The new BlackBerry Mini Keyboard comes with a convertible case and can provide users with a great productivity boost. It is available now for $119.99 (shipping will start on March 23rd, RIM notes).

Samsung Umumkan Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Untuk Galaxy S2

 
Setelah belakangan ramai dibicarakan, Samsung akhirnya mengumumkan ketersediaan sistem operasi Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich untuk Galaxy S2.Dikutip dari Ubergizmo, Selasa (13/3), upgrade ini baru tersedia di kawasan Eropa dan Korea Selatan sebelum nantinya akan dirilis di seluruh dunia.

OS terbaru buatan Google ini tidak hanya diperuntukkan bagi Galaxy S2. Beberapa produk Samsung lainnya seperti Galaxy Note, Galaxy S2 LTE, Galaxy Tab 8.9, dan Galaxy 10.1 juga tak ketinggalan mendapat jatah upgrade di kemudian hari.

"Kami berharap para pelanggan akan menikmati pengalaman lebih baik dengan perangkat Galaxy mereka melalui upgrade ini. Samsung berkomitmen untuk memuaskan kebutuhan pelanggan," ujar JK Shin, President of IT and Mobile Communications Division Samsung.

Firefox for Windows 8’s Metro UI with Internet Explorer’s Integration Level

When made available for the upcoming Windows 8 operating system, Mozilla’s Firefox web browser will benefit from a level of integration similar to the one available for Internet Explorer. 

Mozilla has already started the work on the Metro-Style flavor of the application, and they now have a proof of concept. 
 
We already knew that Internet Explorer 10 wouldn’t be the only browser available for the Windows 8 platform. What we didn’t know, however, was to what extent rival applications would be able to take advantage of the OS’s resources. 

Apparently, in order to be a Metro application, Firefox, the same as any other browser designed for the Windows 8 platform, will have to take advantage of the entire new WinRT API that Microsoft came up with for the OS. 

At the same time, the application could enjoy access to Win32 API, thus benefiting from the same “split personality” that Internet Explorer 10 takes advantage of on the platform. 

“[I]f we do our job, Firefox on Windows 8 Metro should be every bit as capable and integrated with the system as Internet Explorer,” Mozilla’s Asa Dotzler announced last week.
