The following Linux-based operating systems have been announced last week: openSUSE 12.1 Beta 1, Parted Magic 6.7 and Fedora 16 Beta. In other news: Adobe Labs proudly announced the final release of Adobe Flash Player 11 for Linux systems; Mark Shuttleworth announced the Ubuntu 12.04 LTS a.k.a. Precise Pangolin operating system. On October 1st, Bryen Yunashko proudly announced the immediate availability for download and testing of the openSUSE 12.1 Beta 1 operating system. openSUSE 12.1 Beta 1 is now available for download for both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures, coming as a KDE SC 4 and GNOME 3 Live CD ISO images.The development cycle of openSUSE 12.1 will continue with two Release Candidate versions, which will be released on October 13th and October 27th. The final and stable release of openSUSE 12.1 will be here on time, as promised, on November 11th 2011.

On October 2nd, Patrick Verner announced the immediate availability for download of the Parted Magic 6.7 operating system, which comes with some rather big changes. A couple of big components have been updated to Parted Magic 6.7, both the Linux kernel and GParted, the main tool in the suite.Parted Magic 6.7 also comes with Firefox 6.0.2, granted, not the latest stable release, and Xfburn takes SimpleBurn's place. Parted Magic 6.7 comes with Firefox 6.0.2, a fairly recent update, though not the latest. It includes the Mozilla branding, aka the Firefox name and logos, as opposed to fully-free forks such as Debian's IceWeasel.

Here, players can choose from a ton of options, like which map to use (there are almost 40 predefine maps to use), choose to use a randomise option, a feature which insures that no one is too familiar with the terain and that no one gets an unfair advantage.
