The new iPhone 4S might not have been the smartphone that fans expected Apple to unveil earlier this week, but users did flock to reserve a unit as soon as the pre-order period kicked off.
AT&T, which claims that the new iPhone 4S will offer a better experience on its network than on rival airwaves, reportedly registered no less than 200,000 reservations in the first 12 hours of pre-order availability of the new device.
Apparently, the carrier has had the best iPhone pre-order launch ever with the new device, and it surely hopes to register even higher demand for the new smartphone.
Other wireless carrier also kicked off the pre-order period for the new device, but they did not offer specific info on how reservations went until now. The new iPhone 4S will arrive on shelves on October 14th.
