· Users can now disable the screensaver and the lock screen, while in live mode;
· The repository for Google Talk Plugin has been added;
· Skype-helper meta-package installs Skype dependencies, but not Skype itself;
· More GNOME Shell themes are now included;
· The Synaptic package manager has been removed;
· Gloobus preview has been removed;
· GNOME Appearance Properties link has been removed;
· Firefox 7 is now included, replacing Firefox 6;
· Openshot 1.4 is now included.

· On October 17th, Canonical proudly announced the official place and date for the upcoming Ubuntu Hardware Summit 2011 event which takes place once a year. This year's Ubuntu Hardware Summit event will take place on December 8th, starting at 9 AM local time, at Grand Victoria Hotel No. 168, Jingye 4th Rd., Taipei, 10466 Taiwan. The Ubuntu Hardware Summit 2011 event is created especially for product managers and engineers at ODMs and OEMs, with interest or responsibility in deploying the popular Ubuntu operating system on new computers and devices.
