It certainly didn’t take a genius to understand that Sony’s eReaders are in a difficult position when it comes to competing with the likes of Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo, so the company did what any same person would do and lowered the price of its WiFi reader.
After this price cut, the Sony PRS-T1 has reached a $129.99 (96 EUR) price tag, as TDR has uncovered, which makes it $20 less than the comparable Kindle 5 Touch.
Furthermore, pricing is the same as that of the Kobo Touch and $30 bigger than that of the Nook Touch, so Sony’s eReader is in a much better position right for competing with its rivals.
Besides WiFi, the latest version of the Sony Reader has a 6 inch, 600 x 800 pixel eInk display with touch support, 1.3GB of available storage, a microSD card, runs a custom version of the Android OS, and users can turn about 14,000 pages until its battery dies out.
